Collaboration between three designers and friends, Thomas Roger, Raphaël Golja and Clara Valdes. The intention of the project is to work on “gathering”. Thomas creates poetic and useful wooden objects, Raphaël collects raw earth and creates new objects with a craft process, Clara is specialized in ceramics objects and is particularly interested in culinary art.
We gather what we need. We try to act, and to create in the most respectful way. The objects are made from materials gathered and collected in Alsace (France). The objects are handmade, we took time to research and develop a unique language to explain what unites us, and reflects who we are.
Nous cueillons ce qui nous nourrit. Notre acte de création cherche à être respectueux. Les objets ont été réalisé à partir de matières glanées, récupérées en Alsace. Les objets sont réalisés à la main, nous avons pris le temps de chercher et developper un langage singulier, qui parle de ce qui nous rassemble, et qui nous ressemble.
La collection a été présentée à Paris lors de la Paris Design Week Factory, à l’Espace Commines, en septembre 2025.

« I gather earth. I search while wandering through our surroundings, on foot or by bike, my body immersed in the landscape. I scan riverbanks, gardens, meadows, construction sites, the ground beneath my feet — seeking this matter with protean potential. A substance that can be shaped to human needs. Made useful for the time of a geological instant. With the infinite possibility of being transformed, renewed, without ever losing its material essence. And with the ability to return to the soil unchanged. Earth Artefacts is a collection of functional objects born from an empirical exploration of raw earth as a material for making. Using excavated soil from construction sites or local deposits, I seek to create living objects : reversible, adaptable, capable one day of returning to nature without a trace. This approach questions how we inhabit a place, searching for new forms — more organic, more aligned with natural cycles. An invitation to rethink our gestures, our materials, and our place in the landscape. »
